Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Piers Morgan REVEALS Ronaldo’s future, De Jong news

Good morning Man Utd fans

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of setting a bad example after leaving Old Trafford before the end of Sunday’s friendly with Rayo Vallecano, reports SunSport’s Neil Custis.

United boss Erik ten Hag has been demanding togetherness in his United squad ahead of the new season.

But after a sideline tiff with Ten Hag, Ronaldo was subbed at half time by the Dutchman.

Then rather than return to the dugout, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner departed from the stadium 10 minutes before the final whistle.

The club will not sanction Ronaldo for his early departure but a United insider told SunSport: “It is not a good look to leave early when you have been involved in the squad.

“It is different if you are up in the stands and not involved. You would expect someone who has played in the game to be in the changing rooms at the end to listen to the manager’s thoughts.

“Also a lot of people were there to see him and he was not even involved in the clapping of the fans after the final whistle.”

Meanwhile, United are preparing a final push for Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong.

De Jong has been resisting United’s efforts throughout the summer transfer window as he doesn’t appear keen on a move to Old Trafford.

But the Red Devils are hoping to attract the midfielder with a whopping £450,000-a-week offer, according to Sport.

Barca have repeatedly stated they are not willing to sell the Netherlands international this summer.

And Leicester star Youri Tielemans would “definitely” be interested in a move to United, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

O’Rourke told Give Me Sport: “I think he’d definitely be interested. It’s Manchester United we’re talking about, one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“Obviously, it’s a new project under Ten Hag as well so I’m sure that will be exciting to any prospective transfer target as well. If Manchester United come calling it’s pretty hard to turn down.

“I’m sure that will be the case for Tielemans as well, even with no Champions League football on the horizon this season as well, which Tielemans is keen to be playing in. but I think Manchester United is still a huge draw for any player across the world.”

Finally, United ace Eric Bailly is set to snub a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Roma in favour of Sevilla, reports SunSport’s Jordan Davies.

Bailly is in talks with the LaLiga side, who just lost Jules Kounde, over a move away from Old Trafford.

Roma manager Mourinho – who signed the centre-back at United in 2016 – is also interested in bringing the player to Serie A.

AC Milan are keeping tabs on the situation as well, but it appears the Ivory Coast international – whose current deal runs until 2024 – prefers Sevilla
