A PAIR of evil birth parents who tortured their baby boy so badly he had to have both legs amputated are set to be freed in days.
Jody Simpson, 24, and Anthony Smith, 47, have served just five years of their ten year sentences for the horrific abuse of Tony Hudgell, now seven.

They were convicted of cruelty at Maidstone Crown Court back in February 2018 and sentenced to ten years in jail.
But the evil pair are set to be freed this month after serving just half their time – to the fury of his adoptive mum, Paula Hudgell, who says the “sickening” news feels “like a blow to the stomach”.
Paula, 54, was told by her victim liaison officer that Simpson is due out this week and Smith at the end of the month.
She told The Mirror: “These monsters have spent just five years behind bars while Tony faces a lifetime of challenges as a result of their wickedness.
“They don’t go before the parole board or have to show any remorse to walk free. It’s like a blow to the stomach and makes me feel sick knowing those who abuse babies and children are free within a few years.
“These monsters could be living in your street and you wouldn’t have a clue.”
Simpson and Smith get automatically released halfway through their sentences, less time on remand.
Tony is aware his abusers will be out soon – and Simpson could even be released on the same day he is visiting 10 Downing Street.
Speaking from their family home in West Malling, Kent, Paula said Tony was “cross” when she told him his birth parents wouldn’t be in jail much longer.
She also said the seven-year-old wants to join the police force so he can re-arrest them.
Tony suffered such appalling abuse from his birth parents, he was left with broken fingers and toes, as well as torn ligaments, in an attack just 41 days after his birth.
Rather than getting help, vile Tony Smith and Jody Simpson left him to suffer for 10 days.
Tony contracted sepsis and was near death when they took him to a hospital.
Medics were eventually forced to amputate the little one’s legs because of the damage caused.
Adoptive mum Paula, who first met Tony when he was four months old, has previously told how she sobbed when he lost both his legs.
He has since raised £1.7millon for the hospital which saved his life and won a Pride of Britain award for his fundraising efforts.
Police initially decided not to take action against his parents.
They were only prosecuted when Paula and Tory MP Tom Tugendhat campaigned.
After their conviction, Paula pushed for Tony’s Law – meaning sentences for causing a child’s death increase from 14 years to life.
Those who cause serious harm can also get 14 years rather than ten.
