IT’S FAIR to say Laura Whitmore has become a well known face on the box since her rise to fame.
However, in 2022 she shocked Love Island fans when she announced that she was quitting the show.
Who is Laura Whitmore?
Born on May 4, 1985, Laura Whitmore, 37, is a TV presenter and model from Dublin.
Her presenting career kicked off on MTV back in 2008.
After this she managed to switch to ITV, and the presenting jobs have rolled in – which included landing the coveted Love Island hosting gig.
She also featured in the music video for Rizzle Kicks’ Skip to the Good Bit.

How long did Laura Whitmore host Love Island for?
Laura took over the job of Love Island host from the late Caroline Flack, when the show aired in South Africa in January 2020.
She then hosted seasons 7 and 8 of the hit ITV2 show – the latter ended on August 1, 2022.
But on August 22, 2022 Laura announced she was stepping down from the role due to “conflicting projects”.
In total she hosted the show for three seasons over two years and eight months.

Laura revealed on Instagram that she would be leaving Love Island.
In a statement she said: “Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love Island.
“There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects.
“I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands.
“I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series.
“I hope I did you proud Caroline”
When did Laura marry Iain Stirling and do they have kids?
Laura got together with Love Island narrator Iain Stirling back in July 2017, and by June 2018 the couple had moved in together.
Comedian Iain proposed to the Irish TV host in South Africa in April 2020 with a yellow diamond ring he had designed.
A friend told The Sun at the time: “They couldn’t be happier. We’re thrilled for them.
“He’d obviously thought about it for a while, as he designed the ring and yellow’s her favourite colour.”
They then went onto wed that same year, in her native Ireland.
The happy couple welcomed their daughter Stevie Ré in March 2021.
What TV shows has Laura Whitmore appeared on?
The Irish star has had an incredible career on TV, which started off when she hosted I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! NOW! on ITV2 – for five series from 2011.
Laura also acted as a Eurovision commentator in 2014.
In 2016 she competed on Strictly Come Dancing and was partnered with pro dancer Giovanni Pernice, but was the fifth celeb to be voted out.
In 2018 Laura hosted Survival of the Fittest.

Laura is swapping TV for the stage to star in a famous West End show.
In August 2022 she revealed she would be appearing in 2:22 A Ghost Story.
Laura will be playing Jenny, a role previously played by Lily Allen and then Giovanna Fletcher.
In a statement she said: “Theatre has always been my first love and I can’t wait to get back on stage.
“I am a huge fan of the previous productions and delighted to be getting stuck in with rehearsals and working alongside such a hugely talented cast and team.”
Laura will kick off her stint in the show from September 6, 2022 at the Criterion Theatre, London.
